IOT AND SMART CITIES - PILLARS FOR AGE OF AI
I naturally found alliances to help launch a world first IoT global wireless standards, new businesses and products and services in the Internet of Things, some won awards and successfully exited, constantly appeared in the UK press and on BBC Radio. I took the IoT message into the USA, talked with French and Canadian cabinet members, spoke at events throughout Europe, received an invitation from the Premier of Alberta to join their global advisory board, received a personal World Technology Nomination (one my companies won a category), and even had a surprise visit from the UK Prime Minister! I invented large scale innovation ecosystems to catalyze innovation for the digital world to understand the physical world. The global movement for computing intelligence to understand the systems within our physical world was underway.
The next stage was for computing intelligence to understand and serve society. Smart Cities and Smart Communities. There is alot to say here. As I landed in Colorado, I found wonderful alliances that together, we launched the US' first state-wide Smart City Alliance, raised money and successfully launched a Smart City Innovation centre to serve the state and even built a new global smart cities business practice, rich in technology, products and services. A global Edge Computing standard was developed to include smart cities, I wrote a Smart City white paper that set a new standard in innovation, I partnered with the US' Global City Teams Challenge to launch a national Smart City AI Cluster. I was invited to join boards and advised folks all over the world on investment and technology strategies.
This movement was getting national and international attention and received a visit from the UK leadership in innovation, smart cities and the military. After a period of reflection, I realized that this phenomenon was in good shape and it was time to finally step into my destination

I have always been fascinated with computing and its ability to communicate with humans and with each other. At an age of 14, I wrote my first basic program for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum 16K. I found I had a natural talent for software engineering and systems architecture. I was able to "see" into the computer and how to enhance its capabilities through software. During my university studies I developed a computing system (hardware and pc software) to monitor and analyze the fitness of an individual. These type of products are now main stream in the likes of Fitbit and Apple.
From developing PLC products, telecommunication stacks, real-time operating systems to distributed computing products and systems to serve global markets, talking over fixed and wireless networks, from the back end systems to a device or the mobile handset. From assembler to basic to C++, from simple to highly complex Object Oriented Design software architectures, from simple 'intelligent' algorithms running on a single device to highly complex distributed 'intelligent' algorithmic architectures, from embedded computing to large scale computing. From developing proprietary to open computing and telecommunication standards, from simple to high complex AI computing systems, to widely distributed 'intelligent' algorithms and systems, within industries such as oil and gas. cellular and mobile, office to digital media, to manufacturing and electric vehicles, I thrived in my computing career. This laid a profound understanding for the Age of Computing Intelligence and the capability to look at systems and their interactions in a unique way.
Change is an ever constant force running through our lives, so my career transitioned into developing new businesses and initiatives (mostly within the Cambridge UK technology cluster) and then into the USA.
